Breakthrough Breast Cancer – The Great Pink Bake Off

On Wednesday evening I was invited to an event for bloggers at Breakthrough Breast Cancer Scotland HQ in Edinburgh.
The event was to promote the upcoming Great Pink Bake Off. So there were plenty of pink bakes on offer to inspire us all…

Acclaimed Scottish Chef Mark Greenaway was there to offer us some inspiration. Mark had baked his delicious Sticky Toffee Pudding Cupcakes in advance, and demonstrated to us 2 different ways to ice and decorate these.

One with salted caramel and cream cheese icing and one with caramel and peanut butter cream cheese icing… My mouth is watering just thinking about how good these tasted!

We then heard from Samantha Scobie, 1 of 100 inspirational women in Scotland who are each committed to raising at least £1000 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer in 2013.
Samantha has compiled a collection of recipes, supported by short stories about why each recipe is special to the person who submitted it. If you would like to contribute to this fantastic cause please visit Samantha’s Just Giving page.

Friday October 18 2013 has been designated as Great Pink Bake Off Day, however October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so you can choose any day in October to hold your very own Great Pink Bake Off.
