As one of the founders of the Glasgow Baking Club, I received an email from STV a few weeks ago asking if myself and some of the other Glasgow Baking Club members would be willing to judge The Great STV Bake Off.
The STV Productions Department was to hold an office Bake Off in aid of the STV Appeal, which raises funds for children living in poverty in Scotland.
So this afternoon Kirsteen, Becky, and myself (and Baby Squirrel) turned up at STV HQ ready to put our judging hats on.
There was a fantastic array of bakes across many categories… from sweet loaves to biscuits & shortbread, and traybakes to showstopper cakes! Everyone had made such an effort and the level of baking was very high. I definitely hope to have some more recruits for the Glasgow Baking Club from the STV Productions Department.
Judging this lot was tough but there were some standout bakes. Sadly I don’t have pictures of my two favourites (busy juggling Baby Squirrel & judging) – one was a Cherry Liqueur Cake and the other was a Blueberry Cheesecake. I believe these were both baked by Magda! Good job Magda!
Thanks to Allanah from STV for inviting us to judge today, and Thanks for looking after Martha while I tasted all those fabulous bakes. I hope you raised a lot of money for the STV appeal.
