So those of you who know me well know we are desperate for a move away from the city… just waiting on that one buyer to come along and snap up our little West End flat!
Despite a yearning for a quieter life away from the bright lights of Glesga, I have to admit that we are very lucky to live in such a great location in Glasgow’s West End. This area has only recently received the award of best neighbourhood in the UK and Ireland.
With Byres Road only a 5 minute walk away, and Glasgow Botanic Gardens and the Kelvin River walkway on our doorstop, we are spoiled for choice for eating/drinking places, and beautiful walks.
The North Kelvin Meadow is a key part of the neighbourhood we live in and over the last year the Queen Margaret Drive Community has joined in with promoting a community atmosphere for local residents.
Next weekend the Winter Festival is coming to Queen Margaret Drive with live music, stalls with festive gifts, artisan food from all over the world, arts and crafts, Christmas raffle and games, as well as an opportunity to browse the local shops and cafés.
The festival will take place on Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st December between 12 noon and 6pm.
Karen from one of my favourite local shops, Ae Fond Kiss, tells me there will be hot chocolate and mulled wine on offer… sounds perfect!
Also, if you fancy coming along, be sure to check out the fabulous North Star Café for great food and service with a smile.
