Baby Squirrel was finally delivered after a looong labour on a Monday morning in March of this year.
Around lunch time Mr Hungry Squirrel left for home to catch up on some sleep, and grab a few essentials from the flat for me. I remember feeling very nervous about being left on my own with our precious little bundle, especially as I was feeling a little helpless after 4 nights without sleep, followed by an emergency Caesarean Section!
When he arrived back that evening I was presented with a little black box… My very own Push Present!
Inside was the most beautiful personalised necklace from Stella & Stokes (see header picture).
I was over the moon – turned out Mr Hungry Squirrel had been planning this for months.
He had been in touch with Diane of Stella & Stokes months before the birth to design the necklace.
We didn’t find out the sex of Baby Squirrel in advance, so a quick text was sent to Diane within hours of Baby Squirrel being born to confirm her name. The necklace and charms were all ready at this point, Diane just had to stamp on Baby Squirrel’s name on receipt of Mr Hungry Squirrel’s text.
I first came across Stella & Stokes when we were given a wedding gift of this bangle and cufflinks… This was one of our favourite wedding gifts as it is so different to traditional wedding gifts, and so very special to both of us!
No excuses for forgetting wedding anniversaries in this household!
From her home in Glasgow, Diane Stewart of Stella & Stokes crafts stunning sterling silver jewellery.
Diane enrolled on a jewellery design course in a local college when she was off on maternity leave with her first child in order to get some “me time”. She quickly discovered a love and a flair for jewellery design, so it wasn’t long before friends and family were asking her to make them pieces. She then took the decision to resign from her job and set up Stella & Stokes as an online business (the name Stella & Stokes comes from her maiden name – Diane Stella Stokes).
I think Diane’s jewellery is elegantly understated, and incredibly special. Many of her pieces can be personalised with names, dates, initials…, making them wonderful gifts for loved ones.
She also has a great range of pieces for men, I particularly love these kilt pins…
Nearly everyone I meet admires my beautiful necklace, especially when they realise it is personalised.
