It has been a busy year so far at Hungry Squirrel HQ…
I resigned from my job at the end of my maternity leave, due to unsuitable hours for my childcare, and then started some regular Locum work, leaving Little Squirrel in nursery on the days that I work.
We finally sold our Glasgow flat (after 18 months on the market), moved to a rented house in Lenzie, East Dunbartonshire, changed Little Squirrel’s nursery, and we are currently in the process of looking in to buying a new house of our very own (fingers crossed everyone!).
On top of all of this, Mr Hungry Squirrel has just landed a new job, beginning next week! So before the new job begins, we booked a week’s holiday for the three of us to just relax! It feels like a looong time since we had some time to ourselves with nothing to do, nowhere to go, no phone calls to make, no packing to be done… …
We are currently on a saving spree, so going abroad wasn’t something we really considered. We love holidays in Scotland, and staycationing seems like a lot less hassle when travelling with Little Squirrel, so I was thrilled when Mr Hungry Squirrel stumbled across Logierait Lodges & Cottages in Perthshire while doing some research on the web.
I couldn’t recommend these lodges highly enough. The location is fantastic… on the banks of the River Tay, just 5.5 miles from Pitlochry, with Kenmore, Aberfeldy, and Dunkeld all within a half hour drive.
The lodges are furnished to a very high standard and are equipped with pretty much everything you would need. Electricity, central heating, and wi-fi are included, and a travel cot and highchair were provided at no extra charge (we have been charged extra for these basic utilities at other self-catering locations).
We were lucky enough to stay in one of the lodges nearest to the river, with a balcony overlooking the grassy bank of the river – perfect for feeding the ducks!
Eszter & John are on site to help with any problems or queries, and couldn’t be lovelier, or more helpful!
Logierait Lodges location makes it a perfect base for day trips, and it’s beauty makes it perfect for those lazy days when you don’t want to go far at all from your base.
I would highly recommend Logierait Lodges & Chalets as the perfect location for your Perthshire holiday, whether it’s for a family holiday, a break with friends, or a romantic break for two.
