I thoroughly enjoyed my recent stay at home in Co Down… I love getting back to NI, and I just love watching Baby Squirrel and her Grandpa interact.
However, when I returned from NI last week I have to admit I was feeling pretty rotten. I had been fighting a head cold for nearly two weeks while I was at home, looking after Baby Squirrel by myself, and helping Dad around the house. Two weeks of keeping busy while fighting a head cold eventually took its toll upon my return, and the day after I returned I literally couldn’t get out of bed. I felt terrible, flu-like, and exhausted. I didn’t even have the energy to pick up Baby Squirrel 😦
Big Thanks to Mr Hungry Squirrel and his parents for looking after the little one all day, while I recuperated!
A day in bed was just what I needed as I felt much more like myself the next day.
So after a weekend of feeling rotten, I was in need of some treats to brighten up my week, and attending my first Yelp Glasgow event was just the ticket! To find out more about this fab night with food, cocktails, and photo booths, read my review of Yelp’s Gallery of Glasgow Launch at Stravaigin.
Yelp is the easy and fun way to find all the best spots in Glasgow – bars, restaurants, shops and parks. We have fantastic events to show off great businesses and an awesome community of Yelpers. Reading reviews is one of my favourite things about being the Yelp Glasgow Community Manager and I’m always super excited when new people come on board to share their finds! – Briony Cullin Yelp Glasgow Community Manager
As I said, this was my first Yelp event, so it was nice to see and catch up with some familiar faces…
I had previously met Lynsay, who writes Miss West End Girl, at the Chobani event last year. Please check out her blog, it is beautifully written, and I just love Lynsay’s style. She is a stunner,… with perfect hair! 🙂
I have known Bex and Roz, who write The Olive Dragonfly blog, from when Kirsteen & I started the Glasgow Baking Club back in 2012. Bex kindly took over the running of the Baking Club from me when I was pregnant and does a great job, along with Kirsteen, in planing events.
I love this blog, and it is fast becoming one of my go-to sites for recipe inspiration. I have made this Healthy Mushroom Stroganoff Recipe several times already…, delicious!
I also have to mention the incredibly lovely Briony, who, as Yelp Glasgow’s Community Manager, hosted this event. Briony (along with her husband Graeme) also writes The Glasgow Food Blog. If you want to find somewhere new to eat/drink/play in Glasgow then this is the blog to visit!
Finally, I also got the chance to catch up with Michelle who writes the lifestyle blog Ananyah. Michelle and I have been tweeting each other for a couple of years now, and finally met for the first time at the Chobani event last year.
I’d encourage any of you interested in food, drink, fun, and writing to sign up to Yelp.
I really have met some lovely, creative, and talented people through blogging and social media, and just wanted to share the loveliness. Hope you enjoy these blogs as much as I do!
PS Am also looking forward to catching up with some more of you lovely Yelpers at a future event…
